O'brien's doctrine he recites to Winston serves as a reminder in Winston's earlier absolute belief that the party is always right. O'brien hopes to banish all thoughts of disobediance from Winston's mind. He enforces the partys dominance over Oceania, showing absolute faith in Ingsoc.
He enforces that the party is so powerful, they can alter Human history. This is the only time in the book that a party member, other than Winston, acknoweledges the constant records tampering that the party performs. All of the partys tampering begs the question, "If history is only in the minds of humans and all humans remember something different from what actually happened, then did what the humans remember actually happen?
O'brien tells Winston that he will be killed by the party, thus making his belief in the ideals of the party irrelevant. They seek to make him belief everything they say not to reform him into an ideal citizen, but to refuse his right to die a martyr.

Although this is a little short. I feel that this is a very well thought out essay. You have stated your thoughts very well, and have shown me a different way to think about the book then what I have already thought. It is a good essay with a very strong point that helps me understand the book a little bit better.
